Texas Flood Relief

July 2025

All Hands & Hearts (AH&H) is supporting central Texas flood recovery by clearing damage to homes and businesses, salvaging belongings, and providing temporary housing for displaced families.

Disaster Profile

In the early hours of July 4, 2025, intense rainfall caused rivers in central Texas, mainly the Guadalupe River, to swell up to 29 feet in only 45 minutes.

While most people were still asleep ahead of a day of national celebrations, floodwaters rose into low-lying homes, businesses, and youth summer camps, catching many before they had a chance to escape. The devastating floods claimed at least 135 lives, of which 117 were in Kerr County alone. Among the lives lost were 27 young girls from Camp Mystic, a beloved youth camp that was overtaken by the surging river. The Texas floods are one of the deadliest disasters in the state’s history, leaving families, homes, landscapes, and entire communities forever changed.

Our Response

AH&H has provided emergency housing since the floodwaters receded and is cleaning homes for those who lost everything.

Our teams are helping homeowners take the first steps toward recovery through essential muck and gut work, which involves removing waterlogged drywall, insulation, flooring, and irreparably damaged personal belongings, while working hard to preserve what can be salvaged. After this work is complete, families can begin the process of reconstructing in safe, dry homes, free from dangerous mold and mud. Recognizing that safe shelter is one of the most urgent needs after disaster, we’ve also partnered with Airbnb.org since the beginning to provide emergency housing for families who cannot yet return home, giving them stability and time to plan their next steps.
