Here are three ways we’re showing up for families right now:
1. Mucking and Gutting Homes
Our teams are mucking and gutting as many homes as we can reach, clearing standing water, mud, and unsalvageable materials so families have a clean, safe starting point to rebuild.
In Kerr County, we met Brandy, who has lived in her home since 2004. She told us she has never seen flooding like this. Water burst through a wall of her house and rose to her waist, forcing her to climb over furniture and debris to get out. Our team helped clear the remaining mud and has begun gutting rooms, giving her one less thing to face alone.
2. Debris Removal and Mold Sanitation
Beyond the homes themselves, yards and neighborhoods are buried under ruined furniture and waterlogged belongings. Our crews are clearing this debris to restore access and make room for rebuilding, while also working to preserve and save cherished items that families can still salvage. Standing water and soaked drywall also create ideal conditions for mold, so our teams are removing affected drywall, insulation, and baseboards, and performing mold sanitation to stop it from spreading. Thanks to the trusted local relationships we’ve built over the past year, we’re able to get straight to work.
At Alma’s home in Kerr County, we had just finished repairing flood damage from 2025, adding new flooring, insulation, drywall, and an exterior door, when her home flooded again, but this time worse. “When I opened the door, the water poured in hard,” Alma shared. Floodwaters swept her away before neighbors helped her to safety. “I think if I had stayed, I would have died.” Despite everything, Alma is holding onto hope, and our teams are back at her home clearing debris and starting recovery once again.
3. Emergency Housing, Volunteer Coordination & Distributing Essential Supplies
So far, six families have been placed in emergency housing through Airbnb, with three more families in our queue to receive credits. We’ve also continued to support our partners KerrTogether and Global Empowerment Mission (GEM) with administrative operations and volunteer coordination, securing a consistent supply of volunteers for GEM’s supply truck distribution. And with the help of our partners and Lasko Products, 12 pallets of muck-and-gut kits, dehumidifiers, and fans arrived to support cleanup and recovery efforts as families work to rebuild.
Standing Alongside Our Neighbors
We’ve also teamed up with Operation Blessing and The Home Depot Foundation for a relief supply distribution event in Kerrville, providing clean-up kits, hot meals, water, hygiene kits, and other essentials to families in need.
