Last week, a 7.8 magnitude earthquake – the most powerful to strike the Philippines this year and one of the strongest the region has seen in decades – hit the island of Mindanao. Massive landslides, cracked mountainsides, and fractured bridges have cut off remote villages entirely. Early reports confirm 65 deaths, 1,447 injuries, and more than 736,000 people affected, with tens of thousands displaced and over 1,300 public schools impacted.

Our Response So Far
Within days of the earthquake, our team deployed to General Santos City, completed a security briefing, and registered at the local Incident Command Post to coordinate with authorities and assess the greatest needs on the ground.
We also quickly established a partnership with the Philippine Eagles Club –Mindanao Chapter, and to date, together our teams have helped purchase, package, and deliver 750 emergency relief packages, each containing food staples such as canned goods, rice, water, and a medical kit, reaching 3,000 people directly.
With some areas still difficult to access, our teams continue to identify gaps and push aid further into affected communities.
