Emergency Relief After Devastating Floods in Nuristan, Afghanistan

Following devastating floods in Parun, Afghanistan, and after a challenging 48-hour journey, our team delivered emergency assistance to 80 flood-affected families across Parun and remote areas in the Wigal District in Nuristan Province, alongside our partner Hope Bridge Afghanistan Organization. Each family received a complete relief package with a blanket, a pressure cooker, and an essential kitchen and household assistance kit to support their immediate recovery after extreme flooding struck these remote communities.

Severe flooding recently swept through Parun and surrounding remote districts in Nuristan Province, Afghanistan, leaving families facing unimaginable loss. Floodwaters destroyed homes and washed away basic household belongings needed for daily necessities such as cooking meals.

Alongside our partner, Hope Bridge Afghanistan Organization, AH&H took action to ensure relief reached those who needed it most, successfully distributing relief packages to 80 flood-affected families after the disaster.

Inside Our Essential Relief Packages

To support immediate recovery, the response focused on replacing critical items, giving families the tools to prepare hot meals and manage daily household needs. Across the 80 distributed packages, our team delivered:

🛌 Heavy-duty blankets to provide warmth and comfort.

🍲 Pressure cookers to enable efficient meal preparation.

đź«– Teapot sets along with water jars and glasses to ensure safe serving of drinks.

🥣 Large preparation bowls and curry/food bowls for cooking and serving daily meals.

🍽️ Dinner plates and serving trays to restore household dining essentials.

🥄 Cooking utensils, including ladles and spoons.

Every item in these packages was carefully chosen through community engagement and local needs assessments, ensuring the response directly matched what families lost during the disaster. Local community members expressed their gratitude:
