Gaza update: fresh produce and hygiene kits delivered to families

All Hands & Hearts’ work continues in Gaza, where this weekend we delivered 130,000 pounds of fresh produce to families in need.

This weekend, our work continued in Gaza, where the All Hands & Hearts (AH&H) team and local partners got an additional 130,000 pounds of fresh produce directly into the hands of vulnerable households.

As Gaza stabilizes following the ceasefire, nutritious foods are either too expensive or impossible to access, so this is a critical lifeline, especially for children. Many families in Gaza have returned to cooking, but they have limited access to ingredients. As such, these fresh vegetables and fruits provide not only healthy food, but also agency to prepare meals.

Working alongside our local partners in Gaza, we transformed more than 60 tons of carrots, onions, potatoes and oranges into nearly 9,000 food kits, each weighing 16 pounds and filled with fresh, nourishing produce for families in need.

Watch the team in action this weekend:

We are grateful to our friends at CORE who joined us in this effort, and it’s only the start; we will continue to surge in much-needed aid in the days and weeks ahead. With your help, we can do even more.

This is our second big fresh vegetable delivery, and our efforts are expanding. We’ve begun bringing in shelter materials, therapeutic food to combat child malnutrition, essential medicines, and additional hygiene kits for families. Just last week, 5,000 hygiene kits were distributed, including this photo shared by one of the recipients in Gaza:

Starting this week, we will begin distribution of 40,000 tarps and shelter material. This will help families cover holes in their buildings or fix tents if they are displaced. So much more is needed, but it’s an important start as temperatures drop with winter approaching.

Thank you for your continued support as we expand our efforts in Gaza, getting help to those who need it most.
