Myanmar and Thailand Earthquake

Latest Myanmar and Thailand Earthquake Updates

April 4, 2025 - 14:15 (EDT) - Update 9

All Hands and Hearts (AHAH) is committed to supporting response efforts in both Myanmar and along the Thailand–Myanmar border through trusted partnerships and targeted aid.

We’re proud to share that we’ve established strong ties with community groups, churches and grassroots organizations inside Myanmar. These local partners are helping us reach those most affected. Through them, we are providing direct cash assistance and procurement of essential goods, such as shelter material, water filtration systems and hygiene kits—ensuring that critical aid reaches survivors on the ground. Given the current challenges in Myanmar, including limited access to electricity, water and communication, we are working directly with local capacity at this time to avoid placing additional strain on local resources. Once the initial response phase is complete, we will explore how we can best support cleanup and long-term recovery efforts.

Together with our partners, we’re delivering immediate support and addressing the most urgent needs of those impacted by the earthquake.

April 2, 2025 - 13:15 (EDT) - Update 8

Our team continues to connect with international organizations as Bangkok, Thailand, becomes a key staging area and coordination hub for international aid efforts. Moving aid into the country remains a challenge, with organizations on the ground still facing access constraints and awaiting visa approvals from the Myanmar embassy.

As international efforts concentrate in Bangkok, we are also focusing on engaging with local organizations. Part of our team has traveled to Chiang Mai, Thailand, to meet with international NGOs and grassroots organizations operating in Northern Thailand. The team is also working to identify organizations actively responding within Myanmar. We are assessing potential ways to support, including providing non-food items, food supplies, hygiene kits or facilitating direct cash assistance. We are also exploring opportunities to assist earthquake survivors from Myanmar who have crossed the border into Thailand.

April 1, 2025 - 11:45 (EDT) - Update 7

Our team continues to coordinate in Bangkok as more organizations arrive. This morning, the team attended an informal Logistics Cluster Call, where organizations on the ground connected to assess challenges and explore collaborative solutions to support the most urgent needs.

With two more team members arriving, we plan to split the team tomorrow—one group will travel to Chiang Mai to assess impacts and identify potential partners in Northern Thailand, while the other remains in Bangkok for continued coordination.

March 31, 2025 - 13:15 (EDT) - Update 6

Our team is stationed on the ground in Bangkok, Thailand. We are engaging with international NGOs staged in Thailand to assess how we can support relief efforts in Myanmar, where search and rescue operations continue and urgent needs for food, water and supplies persist. Drawing from our 2023 Türkiye earthquake response—where we assisted with rubble removal and built temporary shelters, latrines and child-safe spaces—we are evaluating how we can best help.

Navigating entry into Myanmar is a shared challenge among aid agencies, and we are working collaboratively to find solutions while also exploring cross-border aid deliveries, similar to our Ukraine response, where we helped transport critical supplies from Poland into affected areas.

March 29, 2025 - 11:57 (EDT) - Update 5

All Hands and Hearts’ Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART) is on the ground, actively conducting assessments in Bangkok, Thailand, and working to identify local organizations we can support as the region responds to this devastating earthquake. Our team is seeing a lot of damage, including a levelled high-rise building that was under construction and collapsed due to the shockwaves. Authorities are still working to recover missing individuals trapped in the building. Show your support by donating today.

March 28, 2025 - 15:00 (EDT) - Update 4
