Communities across Pereira are searching through rubble and clearing debris with their bare hands. With countless homes destroyed, displaced families are sheltering outdoors in parks and open spaces while they wait for emergency assistance.
All Hands & Hearts mobilized its disaster relief team to Colombia within hours following the powerful 7.4-magnitude earthquake that struck the western area of the country.

On the Ground
Our team has been on the ground in Pereira within hours of the earthquake, coordinating with local authorities and partners to assess needs and procure emergency supplies for search-and-rescue teams.
AH&H’s Andrés met with the Pereira Fire Department to identify the most urgent needs. Our team immediately delivered critical search and rescue equipment, including:
- Concrete cutting tools
- Jackhammers
- Chainsaws
- Pickaxes
- Shovels
Rescue crews are working non-stop, racing against time to reach people who may still be trapped beneath collapsed buildings.
What’s Next?
As rescue efforts continue, our team is working alongside local authorities to source additional support, including:
- Lighting equipment for overnight operations
- Blankets and rehydration supplies for patients being treated outside a damaged hospital
Initial activities remain focused on supporting first responders and displaced households with emergency relief items, including tools, PPE, and other essential supplies.
This is a quickly evolving situation. We’ll continue sharing updates across our social media channels and website as more information becomes available.
