In the first days after the earthquake, bottled water was a necessary lifeline. But that short-term solution comes with long-term costs: mounting plastic waste is now a serious problem in communities already stretched thin. Meanwhile, the risk of illness continues to grow as more people share limited, unsafe water sources.
To meet this urgent need, All Hands & Hearts teams are installing water filtration systems at churches serving as shelters and distribution points for displaced families. These sites have become essential hubs for shelter and for the aid families need to get through each day.

Five Million Liters of Clean Water Per Filter
At Santa Ana Church in La Guaira, our team delivered water filtration systems and trained local community leaders to operate and maintain them. Each filter is capable of supplying up to 5 million liters of clean water, providing safe drinking water for the families sheltering there and strengthening the community’s resilience for the months ahead.
We’re proud to support community leaders like Aura, who are stepping up to keep their neighbors safe. By training local leaders alongside installing the equipment, we’re ensuring these systems continue serving families long after our teams move on.

Clean water isn’t just an immediate need. It’s the foundation for recovery. By pairing emergency response with durable infrastructure and local training, All Hands & Hearts is helping Venezuela’s earthquake survivors move from crisis to stability, one filter at a time.
