Canada Wildfires

In Quebec, around 14,000 people were forced to evacuate, and more than 150 fires are still ablaze in the province. Further east, in Nova Scotia, officials said Sunday that one wildfire had been contained but a second, covering nearly 100 square miles, was still burning out of control. Air quality in the northeastern U.S. has been severely impacted.

This week, Canada experienced a shocking start to their wildfire season, dealing with over 400 wildfires causing 14,000 people to evacuate their homes in Quebec and Nova Scotia. Many of these fires continue, and 240 are burning out of control, according to Interagency Fire Center. Smoke has drifted down into the eastern U.S., causing hazy skies and putting air quality advisory alerts into effect. All Hands and Hearts will continue to monitor the situation.
