Mississippi Tornado Relief
March 2023 – April 2023
All Hands and Hearts (AHAH) had our Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART) on the ground in Amory, Mississippi, two days after tornadoes struck the state. DART connected with local contacts and partners to identify the most vulnerable communities desperately needing immediate support.
Our Work
DART spent two months on the ground in the town of Amory, assessing and supporting the area and its surrounding areas. Working alongside local community members and partners, we completed 37 sites consisting of hazardous tree removals, debris removals and critical repairs.
AHAH established a strong partnership with Amory’s local furniture factory that transformed its space into a temporary distribution center to serve the community. Our team connected with partners serving the community within the center to identify immediate needs to make a more significant impact.
