Our Work

All Hands and Hearts (AHAH) mobilized a response team in the days following a massive earthquake in Myanmar, committed to supporting response efforts where they’re needed most through trusted partnerships and targeted aid. We’ve built strong ties with community groups, churches and grassroots organizations inside Myanmar who are helping us reach those most affected. Through these local partners, we are providing direct cash assistance and procuring essential items such as shelter material, water filtration systems and hygiene kits—ensuring that critical aid is reaching survivors on the ground.

Current Activities

AHAH has been working closely with our trusted local partner to support emergency relief efforts and bring comfort to families in some of the hardest-hit areas in Myanmar. Together, we’ve provided direct cash assistance to more than 400 people and procured urgently needed items for 500 households, reaching an estimated 4,000 individuals. Many survivors are sheltering in monasteries, churches, or makeshift tents after losing their homes, with limited access to power, clean water, or internet.

Essential supplies, including clean drinking water, shelter materials, hygiene kits, clothing and solar lamps, were packed and distributed with the help of dedicated local volunteers. This timely support reached communities facing ongoing challenges, bringing much-needed relief during a particularly meaningful time of year marked by Myanmar’s traditional Water Festival and New Year holiday.

As the response shifts from rescue to recovery, we remain committed to exploring additional ways to meet needs and stand by communities during this incredibly difficult time.

Myanmar Earthquake

On March 28, 2025, a powerful 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck northwest of Mandalay, the second largest city in Myanmar, at a shallow depth of only six miles, amplifying its destructive impact. Just 12 minutes later, a 6.4-magnitude aftershock compounded the devastation. Reports now indicate nearly 4,000 lives lost, over 5,000 injured and hundreds more still missing.

The destructive tremors rippled across the region, with neighboring countries also impacted, Thailand among the hardest hit. In Bangkok, the earthquake caused the collapse of a 33-story building under construction, trapping nearly 100 workers beneath the rubble. To date, Thailand has reported 44 fatalities, 38 injuries and 78 people still missing.
